Pilot studies indicate a 35-40% decrease in perceived stress among emergency services control room personnel.

With the support of Health Innovation South West, it was spread and implemented across all five NHS Cancer Centres in Devon and Cornwall with support from the Peninsula Cancer Alliance.

Leo Cancer Care
Leo Cancer Care makes proton beam therapy (PBT) devices, with the potential to save the NHS millions of pounds and increase patient throughput. The company’s products use a unique upright positioning system, which can be installed more quickly, more cheaply, and take up a fraction of the space of traditional machines. Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex have supported the company to commission evaluation and validation reports, leading to a cost-benefit analysis and budget impact model. These found that the company’s Marie™ system could lower the cost and waiting list backlog in the NHS and yield greater return on investment compared to existing NHS machinery for cancer treatment.

It uses AI to support GPs with risk-assessing patients by checking combinations of signs, symptoms, and risk factors, and will then suggest an appropriate diagnostic pathway and support GPs to make suspected cancer referrals. Supported by Health Innovation East, C The Signs is implemented in 35 GP practices in Ipswich and East Suffolk.

A pilot in the North West Coast has resulted in saving 125 excess bed-days per 1,000 patients on the PTL, due to less harm being caused and fewer unplanned admissions. There was also up to 15 minutes consultant administrative time saved per patient per triage, which can be used for clinical duties; as well as a 27% reduction in 52-week waiters during the first six weeks of deployment. C2-Ai’s business has been incubated in Cheshire and Merseyside from the beginning. Health Innovation North West Coast has supported its journey into the NHS and has introduced C2-Ai to local clinical, operational, and executive teams who have bought into the value of C2-Ai’s tools.
