The work of three local health innovation networks has been celebrated at the 2024 Health Service Journal (HSJ) Partnership awards.  

The annual awards ceremony recognises the most effective collaborations in healthcare, with partnership working hailed as a key success factor in the sustainability for the future of the NHS. 

Health Innovation West of England were awarded bronze in the Most Impactful Partnership in Preventative Healthcare award, for the PreCiSSIon programme, which uses a digital solution, Cemplicity, and AI technology to reduce the impact of surgical site infections following caesarean birth. 

The project aims to prevent surgical site infection following caesarean birth with two aims – to measure Surgical Site Infection (SSI) in maternity units and to implement an evidence-based bundle of care to reduce SSI. You can read more about the PreCiSSIon programme here.  

Health Innovation North West Coast was shortlisted for the Most Impactful Project Addressing Health Inequalities for their Fuel Poverty Project, which focuses on improving outcomes for the most deprived 20 per cent of the population in five clinical areas, including chronic respiratory disease. 

And Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex was shortlisted for the Best Healthcare Analytics Project for the NHS for its evidenced-based roadmap for transforming primary care. 

Award categories reflected 3 different ways of working with the NHS:  

  • Joint working on long term or short-term projects  
  • On-going or contracted supply of goods or services  
  • Service excellence from a business supplying more than one customer 
  • Partnering for procurement success
