Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex Patient Safety Collaborative and Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were also shortlisted at the awards in the Patient Safety Award category.
The nominated project “Reducing Preterm Birth: a success story”, saw the establishment of specialist Preterm Birth (PTB) Clinics at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital (ASPH) in 2018, significantly reducing their preterm birth rate, now among the lowest in the country. The services have expanded to optimise preterm deliveries, improve outcomes and provide follow-up care, encouraging couples to return to services for future pregnancies.
